EXHIBITION

Exhibition is one of the main communication vehicles with the public. Planning an exhibition involve various steps and each project demand specific museographic solutions. In order to suit the expositive spaces and well settle the pieces, we need a specialized professional team which always searches for new materials and techniques.

 

The presence of a museologist through the entire process is fundamental to guide the staff while of the procedures of space utilization and pieces manipulation.

CULTURAL PROJECTS

Formatting a cultural project for fitting into incentive bills and edicts of culture fomenting involve several items that demand time and specific knowledge, such as the presentation of the idea, its justification, the physic structure of the event, the social counterpart, the cost estimation and the inclusion of all items in specific charts.

 

As proponent or not, we assist from the elaboration till the approval. The project includes the conception, elaboration of a preliminary project and the final project, management, research, curatorship, media planning, scenography, lighting and mounting, among others activities.

CREATION OF MUSEUMS

The creation of a museum of any type involves several coordinated actions among multidisciplinary teams. A museum is a place where all actions are under specific protection parameters, documentation, study and interpretation, where the conceptual basis is the heritage and its relationship with the visitor.

 

For each interpretative design should be adopted adequate resources to all age groups and adapted for people with disabilities in fun and interactive language, making access as wide as possible. For this, museographic resources can be used as interactive dashboards, models in motion, videos, computer networks, electronic games and various experiments.

 

Is part of the museology project the definition of the basic premises of forming a museum: concept, target audience, relationship with the environment, interpretation of shares of equity, etc. The MUSEO carries out preparation and implementation of museological and museographic plan creation, formatting the spaces and their uses according to the contents of project to be implemented.

CONSULTING

The MUSEO offers consultancies in technical areas of museology and museography. Specializes in providing consulting, planning and management, meets in their professional technical staff with experience in design and project development in the cultural memory area, providing operational technical support in the ideation process, planning and management of various activities in the universe museums and memory spaces.

 

Several times, the fixed teams of museums do not have staff with sufficient expertise to develop their projects, requiring external consultants. It operates in project documentation and museum policy, strategic planning for museum management, the implementation of technical reserves and conservation of collections areas in the definition of parameters used in museum exhibits, among other projects.

CONSERVATION

MUSEO offers a mobile station for treatment of private collections galleries and institutions. Rely on a specialized team, composed of museologists and conservators moving along with its own infrastructure and equipments. From the previous diagnosis of the premises and the conservation condition of the pieces, is elaborated a specific treatment proposal for each collection.

 

We solve questions like needed adequacies for the surroundings, light incidence, humidity and temperature. Private Restoration Ateliers of various supports are our partners; therefore, we take responsibility for addressing and following the treatment of pieces which present biggest intervention needs.

CATALOGUING

Cataloging collections is a major technical activities applied to collections. One of the basic tools for security and maintenance of any collection is the knowledge of the items that compose it and avoid any loss of property.

 

Thus, with its organized and available to access content, the museum will be able to develop activities that reflect the affinity between his speech and his collections. Through the deep knowledge of the contents of their collections museums can enhance their research, publications, exhibitions and products.

 

The MUSEO acts from the definition of criteria for museum cataloging to the provision of teams for this activity, meeting the standards and legal standardization for inventory holdings.

DIGITALIZATION

Digitization represents an important tool of preservation turning dispensable the access to the original, maintaining, therefore, its physical integrity. The information quality and fidelity of the digital representative are identical to those of the original.

 

We supply sets of digital representative in RAW (brute image form), digital representative “Master”, containing the full length high resolution images in TIFF format and another file with the images in Jpeg format for database and Internet use.

COACHING

In any museum or cultural space, it is essential that teams are prepared to deal with their activities.

The professionals involved in the exhibition assembly have a responsibility to the public, the above assets and resources employed in its execution. These are professionals who will ensure the dialogue between the works and the visiting public.

 

The training includes theoretical and practical classes where they discussed the stages of pre-production, production and post-production, and operations essential to handling with artworks inside and outside the institutional space.

 

The MUSEO offers training in exhibition assembly areas, digitization, cataloging and conservation of collections, educational mediation and accessibility, handling and packaging of works of art, security. These trainings enable and update the various professionals involved in projects involving museum processes.

OUR TEAM

Daniela Camargo

Master´s student in Preservation and Cultural Heritage Management of Health and Science at Casa de Oswaldo Cruz/FioCruz, museologist for Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO and Postgraduate in Management of Historical and Cultural Heritage for UFMG in 2011.

Studied photography in Brazil and Italy. Worked with television production in Porto Alegre, Florianópolis and in São Paulo in publicity and cinema areas for 10 years.

Joined the team of co-workers of Photographic Preservation and Conversation Centre of FUNARTE in Rio de Janeiro for nine years, acting as a conservator/photographer and throught the last years was responsible for the projectmanagement area of the same Centre.

Nowadays is vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Conservators and Restorers of Cultural Heritage – ABRACOR.

Mariana Santana

Master in Museology and Heritage by the Masters Program in Museology and Heritage at UNIRIO / MAST. Museologist for Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO and Postgraduate in Management of Historical and Cultural Heritage for UFMG.

Works at the Photographic Preservation and Conservation Centre of FUNARTE in administrative support of the institution and advisement in projects execution At National Archive worked as documental conservator, preparing the documents for microfilming and quality control of restoration process of pieces in paper support.

Participated with the Brazilian Association of Conservators and Restorers of Cultural Heritage – ABRACOR of the production of the First International Journey about Biodeterioration of collections and Environmental Biosecurity in 2005. Recently, was a part of the executive commission of the XII Abracor Congress, being responsible also for the creation of the multimedia CD of the congress abstracts. Is the currently treasurer of ABRACOR’s Directory.

Eliane Alves

Business Administrator for Faculdade de Ciências Contábeis e Administrativas Moraes Júnior-Mackenzie, Postgraduate in Finance for IBMEC in 1990 and Postgraduate in Management of Historical and Cultural Heritage for UFMG in 2011.

Responsable for the financial and administrative processes and for the management of the operational area in long-term projects with the companies.

Developed projects and enterprises in the cultural área, particurlaly as a partner in a Brazilian handcraft and design store, responsable for forming distribution channels for products and for qualifying producing centers.

Worked as Executive of Administration and Finance in Health, Insurance and Banking Industries.
